Gimmie a hand

Go and check out our article on UPIU.com at

Accomplish things, but don't boast

Don't you hate it when people do something, and then boast about what they have done? There is a clear difference between being proud, and boasting, as there is a clear difference between fishing and standing on the shore with a stick looking like an idiot. This thought occurred whilst listening to the Jesus Christ of folk, Robert Zimmerman (aka. Bob Dylan). Man, that guy is good. His music is still in my top 10 and I have been listening to him for the last 10 years at least. Times are a'changing' was the first song I learnt on guitar and he has inspired me everyday. Most recently, I discovered a line in It ain't me babe, that says, 'go lightly from the ledge babe, go lightly on the ground' I interpret that as meaning that one must leave a situation and not make bones about it, in other words, don't make a big schpeel out of something when it isn't necessary (I recently learnt how to spell necessary, so I thought I would use it).

Well that's me for today. Leave a comment, add me on twitter and if you are stressed, add a drop of lavender to your bath water and soak yourself calm.

Its friday

Woot Woot!!! Its friday!!! The end of another week of work for all of us. I miss high school (naaaat!!!!). Although at high school you could do no work and make up a shit excuse and it will be fine. If varsity is worse, man the real world will suck. Big time.
Its shirt-before-the-shirt time. This, my friends is awesome. It is a vest that one wears before going out. This means that when you are pre-drinking, you don't mess up your 'cool' shirt you intend wearing when you going out. Go check out Robynne's blog, its a good lolzie!

The art of free beer

Today I thought I would post a good life's lesson I learnt last night. How to get a free drink with out being hit on by anyone. This is for people who appreciate beer as much as I do.

Step 1: Look innocent

Step 2: Pretend to have no money (this is crucial, because then it rules out the possibility that you are flirting with the buyer.)

Step 3: Inform the buyer that you will 'buy them one next time'

Step 4: Don't ask the same person twicea nd don't let the same person see you with another beer (They may think you are 'cheating' them)

This should be fool-proof, but adjustments may be necessary.

Say what?

So here is the LOL of the weeks, for defs, bru. So Blade Nzimande issued a statement last week saying, "The media is a threat to Democracy". This alone is funny because he is a communist, so logically he would not be in favour of the neo-liberal principles instituted by Trevor Manuel in 1990-odd, no? Apparently not. And he is the minister of Higher education and training. And the General Secretary of the SACP. I see a problem here.

Time for me

It's been a while since I last blogged, so I thought it would be appropriate to rant a little about my life. Speaking of ranting, check out my latest rant vlog at bit.ly/955SPq. It's rather interesting, I think... Cruise around the site and check out some of the other news and some of my other vlogs.
Recently, my life has been pretty average, comprised of the usual bull* punctuated by the incessant assignments. It's kinda a situation of 'Different day, same bull*'
Jeezy creezy. This work is getting to me man. Really it is. I suppose that is varsity though? And I have to get into second year Journalism. AAAHHHH!!!! Digging one of my lectures at the moment... I'll give you a clue- It isn't politics, history or english... *sneaky face*
I've rediscovered Bed on Bricks again. Wow, they're cool. Their lyrics are so relevant to my life, but in a subtle kinda way. Go check them out their site: http://bit.ly/aoJzA0.
And here comes some subliminal advertising for a good DJ mate of mine, Das Kapital. Go have a listen to his latest mix on Soundcloud. It's a mad mix of electropop and house that really gets my toetsies tingling... Man I miss that kiddo.

Leave me a comment of follow-a-brother on twitter.

I'll be back soon....

a Word on Footie

It makes no sense why people are so confident in teams that really aren't that good, for example Italy. Look at tonight's game. They drew with Paraguay. There was no reason for it, it's not like Italy had all of their good players injured or that Paraguay were particularly good, it's just that Italy aren't as good as people think.

It cheeses me off when people say 'Forza Azzuri' or 'Viva Italia'. Are you Italian? No. So Stop it.
